Illusions of Chemistry Quarterly
Words & Music by Brooke Lunderville, 2009.
I'm too polite to say this at work, so I wrote a song.

MP3 recording of Illusions of Chemistry Quarterly.

People who seemed til that moment intelligent show me their quality A Amaj7 A7 D
When they tell me that antidepressants are all very well they suppose A Amaj7 A7 D
But they don't understand how a person could choose to drug themselves Dm A
And I know I'm not perfect but may God preserve me from sounding so smug.	Dm A

I guess if you pick on the drugs it saves you the trouble A Amaj7 A7 D
Of saying a person is weak. Dm

And the drugs aren't that great, yeah, sometimes they don't work	E Dm
They can rack you with sickness or make things get worse E Dm
But I have seen them give a man hope where before he had none A Amaj7 A7 D
And I have seen them call to a heart as the rooster's crow calls to the sun - wake up, wake up lonely sleeper. A Amaj7 A7 D

And if drugs are unnatural, and Nature demands that we cry in her name A Amaj7 A7 D
Then Nature's an asshole and I want no part. Dm D
And if anyone tells me these miracles are an illusion of chemistry	A Amaj7 A7 D
I would like a subscription to Illusions of Chemistry Quarterly, please Dm D Dm D

I guess if you pick on the drugs it saves you the trouble A Amaj7 A7 D
Of saying a person is weak. Dm
