Rosemary & Roo
Words: Brooke Lunderville (2009). To the tune of: Rosemary & Rue, by Brooke Lunderville.
Oh, it's grim when you find yourself parodying... yourself. This is Phil Mills' fault.

MP3 recording of Rosemary & Roo.

My confusion and hunger are both now extreme Em Am
In this land full of poison and strange monotremes	Dm Am
For when I booked my plane ticket I never knew G Am F
That the national dish was rosemary and roo Em Am F

Rosemary and roo: an Australian stew! G Am
The punters all quaff 'er, whenever it's offered	Am Em Am
Along with a pint of the pub's cheapest brew Am G E Am

When I read the pub menu I blamed my poor vision
But I see now the recipe's no euphemism
Having ordered it now, honour says I must eat
But I'm not sure that I'm man enough for this meat

Rosemary and roo: an Australian stew!
The punters all quaff 'er, whenever it's offered
Along with a pint of the pub's cheapest brew

My tastebuds have cursed me but I've scarfed it down
And I'm desperately hoping it won't now rebound
But the animal whose flesh I've lately consumed
Is famous for bouncing - I fear that I'm doomed

Rosemary and roo: an Australian stew!
The punters all quaff 'er, whenever it's offered
Along with a pint of the pub's cheapest brew

And I, foolish tourist, have ordered it too. Am G Am
