The Space Lasers May Already Have Penetrated My Tinfoil Helmet (Despite My Extensive Field Research)
Words & Music by Brooke Lunderville, 2008.
Written as a theme song for the Seattle 2011 Worldcon bid, this won 2nd place in the Conflikt I songwriting contest. Oh boy am I glad it didn't win FIRST place - it's not exactly... promotional? Or comprehensible?

Yesterday's tomorrow is today, D Am
Today's tomorrow is tomorrow Am G
Tomorrow's tomorrow is also tomorrow G A
Time stops tomorrow A D
Wait.

Yesterday's tomorrow is today, D Am
Tomorrow's yesterday is today, Am G
Today's today's today, which is to say G A
Today is here to stay A D
Wait.

Yesterday's tomorrow is today D Am
But only yesterday it was today Am G
So yesterday is tomorrow G A
Have I got that right? A Bm

Why do my tenses go astray? Bm Bb
I should move somewhere away Bb D
From that tacky tourist tower D A
And its time-unwinding power A Bm

The space needle stabs the sky Bm Bb
And the surface of space time Bb D
The dead rise from the grave and rejoice D A
My bubble-gum stays eternally moist A Bm

And it's so hard to keep it straight Bm Bb
Am I too early or too late? Bb D
Am I dead or somehow still young? D A
Has this song already been sung? A Bm Bb A

So
Yesterday's tomorrow is today D Am
Look, that's all I'm going to say Am G
						G A
						A D
